Meet Brandi

Brandi Mae Colkitt was a dedicated 26-year-old Master Level CPS Child and Protective Services Case Manager who passionately advocated for the rights of children.

 

At the time of her passing, Brandi had already accomplished much in her life. She owned her second home, was a published poet, tried being a foster parent, and cherished weekly evenings with her beloved little sister.

Brandi faced medical challenges before the age of seven but never let them define her. She excelled in ballet, gymnastics, Girl Scouts, and 4H, became bilingual in Spanish, and had a deep love for animals, her sister, life, and child advocacy. Brandi had a particular fondness for ladybugs, cats, and Care Bears, especially Grumpy Bear.

Her favorite saying was, "It's not the number of breaths you take; it's the moments that take your breath away." (Maya Angelou)

 

Brandi and Kathy shared a special phrase: "I love you more than warm French bread."
